"If we had entered in the room on the 16th of December 1565, in front of our eyes would be opened wide a great show. We could have confused with hundreds of noble princes and ladies of different origins – German, Austrian, Tuscan – and we would have seen a pleasant theatrical comedy, the “Cofanaria”, with musical interludes. In front of the stage we would have found the Prince Francesco I de’ Medici and his new bride Giovanna d’ Austria, while we could have took a seat between the nobility. Twelve imposing lights would have illuminate the room, enriched for the occasion with the representations of the whole Tuscany: the reign of the Medici."
In this way begins the story of the Old Palace enclosed in a tablet 7’’: a multimedia video guide, an innovative and high-tech tool, able to give back to history its face and to offer the public a look on the palace never even imagined.
The path is story: the words of the narrator are interwoven with ancient quotations, the sixteenth-century music alternate with soundscapes, the images (high-resolution) are accompanied by virtual reconstructions and historical settings. Everything contributes to create a fluid narrative, pleasant and coherent with a specific work of historical and documentary recognition.
