Description
Begin a path guided by the mixed real art and history of Florence with both the famous Uffizi Gallery and Vasari Corridor. Start your visit with fast entry to look into works made by top artists like Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, and Caravaggio. With help from skilled guides, deeply learn about the growth of Italian art from its steps in the Middle Ages to its height at the time of the Renaissance.
Nothing surpasses the Vasari Corridor which is basically a hidden wonder built by Giorgio Vasari back in 1564 for the Medici family. This elevated corridor connects Palazzo Pitti to Palazzo Vecchio over the Arno River on top of today’s world-famous Ponte Vecchio. Closed off from the public eye since 2016 due to extensive major renovations; it has been restored with an aim of boosting its architectural features as well as improving safety standards within it. After eight years of silence, this masterpiece known all over the world will make a grand comeback in 2025 when tourists find themselves standing once again at that spot where history meets architecture.
In 2007, Towns of Italy became the first tour operator to regularly open this hidden gem to the public, making it accessible to travelers worldwide. With its much-anticipated reopening, this guided tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience walking in the footsteps of the Medici, savoring unique views of Florence and learning about the story of the powerful family that shaped the city’s history. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to see Florence from a perspective that is uncommon for most.
